Barbara Sullivan Retires
Barbara Sullivan is retiring from the City of Redmond on May 2. Barbara has worked at Redmond for the past 26 years. She has also been a pioneer, leader and mentor in the water conservation community. Here's just one example of the gratitude we all feel written by Janet Sailer, Sammamish Plateau Water and Sewer:
"Before I started at the District, I worked for nearly nine years at the Redmond Parks Department, where I first met Barbara in the mid-1990s while helping clean pickle barrels to be used as rain barrels for Redmond water customers. I didn’t know anything about water conservation when I got the job here ..., but learned tremendous amounts under her careful tutelage. She was always willing to provide me with guidance, no matter how busy her schedule. I am forever indebted to her for my career advancement. It just won’t be the same without her!"
Besides her volunteer work with PWC, Barbara has held leadership positions and been active with the Water Conservation Coalition of Puget Sound (now merged with PWC), AWWA and the AWWA PNWS's Water Conservation Committee. We all wish Barbara a wonderful and fulfilling retirement.
