The Partnership is committed
to providing programs that advance our mission of increasing water
conservation in the Central Puget Sound Region. We are currently
evaluating and prioritizing programs. We differentiate between programs
and services, defining programs as being activities that may or
may not require a fee-for-service. Services will require a fee.
We anticipate that the prioritizing of programs will be an ongoing
process that will need to be revised and refined as the Partnership
evolves and conservation issues change within our program area.
Our Programs & Services Committee is charged with overseeing
this process.
Here is a sampling of programs
we would like to offer:
- Organize and/or sponsor training sessions
and workshops on water conservation issues
- Hold quarterly forums throughout the
region to discuss water conservation issues and bring about policy
change
- Maintain a Water Conservation Data Base
and Library on the website
- Create a recognition program that recognizes
businesses and organizations for innovative and effective water
conservation programs
- Develop and implement water conservation
campaigns
- Create a “Blue Wave” certification
program for businesses
- Research and establish best management
practices relating to water conservation
- Maintain a listing of rebate opportunities
within the Partnership service area
- Produce a quarterly newsletter that highlights
water conservation success stories
Currently we have divided programs
into four broad categories:
- Programs Related to the Partnership Website
- Education and Advocacy
- Programs for the Business & Commercial
Sector
- Regional Service Coordination

The following programs will be available on the website:
Conservation Data Base and Library
The Partnership will maintain a website with a wealth of
information on water conservation including: general information
that is available and accessible other places through references
or links; and specialized information that others might find helpful
to develop and/or evaluate conservation programs. The latter information
will be available to members only.
Water Conservation Rebate Listing
The Partnership will construct and maintain a clearinghouse
identifying water conservation incentive and rebate opportunities
for water customers within the Partnership program area.
Conservation Performance Data Base
The Partnership will maintain a data base of conservation
goals and performance data based on reports from the Municipal Water
Law. This data will be limited to data that is made available to
us. Access to data would be for members only.
The Partnership will encourage networking and communication between
the members of its three caucuses and other interested parties.
Quarterly Forums – featuring interesting
speakers on water conservation topics and providing network opportunities
and open channels for discussion
Quarterly Newsletter – Featuring the latest
water conservation news and technologies and providing success stories
from within our region

The following programs will be directed toward the business community:
Workshops on water conservation for business users.
These could be targeted to specific industries: i.e., green industry,
building industry, etc.
“Blue Wave” Recognition Program -
A certification program for businesses and other organizations providing
recognition for meeting conservation standards set by the Partnership
This would be part of an overall Partnership recognition program
that would annually honor businesses and organizations for their
outstanding water conservation efforts.

The Partnership could assume the role of coordination of regional
water conservation messaging and products. The Partnership could
become the generator of future campaigns and/or conservation implementation
programs. Activities such as coordination with service and product
providers and linkages to regional messaging could be elements of
this program.
